Good afternoon!
My name is Pierre Kemmers, born in 1980, and I am a Dutch national. In September 2010 I migrated with my wife Kiersten to live and work in Canberra, Australia, where I work as a senior meteorologist for the Bureau of Meteorology at the National Operations Centre of Airservices Australia.I enjoy paving new ways, value continuously working on my personal and professional development, like getting further and contributing to innovation and love facing new challenges outside my domain. I am versatile, a quick learner with an inquiring and critical mind, motivated and cheerful. I like living close to the boundaries of my comfort zone, or slightly beyond. I am excellent at bridging the gap between weather forecasts and professional users. Click here for my curriculum vitae. When not at work, I enjoy going for a run or for a ride on my racing bicycle. It's a great way to use that energy and it helps me sorting my thoughts. In winter, instead of riding my bike, I'd rather go to the gym for a spinning class. Then there's the sailing! I learned to sail as a teenager on the Dutch lakes in dinghies and have spent several years as an instructor after that. Nowadays I enjoy sailing on yachts, either leisurely on overnight trips on the North Sea, or in racing competitions where I function as foredecker or navigator. In winter, I adore a week of ski holidays in the Austrian or French Alps. And of course, there's my wife Kiersten, who is an Australian national. We got married on Saturday 13th November 2010 in Terrigal on the Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia. |
